Wash Your Kids! Free!

Every so often, a company will contact me with the request to send samples of their product for review. I don't have any free time, so I usually can't answer right away, but when Danny Moscoso with Circle Of Friends emailed me and said, "So I was searching mom sites today looking for reviews for our product, and then was instantly sidetracked by reading all your posts. I laughed so hard!!I'm not sure if I want to go along with the review anymore, though" it struck me funny.

If you can make me laugh (and I'm not sure he meant to), I am pretty much putty in your hands so I begged for products. He sent me a huge box of stuff and it sat on the counter because on weekdays, I run full speed until midnight and then go comatose. Virginia would eyeball the box every night and ask, "Are you gonna open this tonight? Can we open this? What about now? Is now a good time? Now?"

I specifically asked him for some of the detangler because for one thing, Harmony has naturally spiralled hair. I'm not sure where it came from as both Chris and I have remarkably straight hair. I have had to count back nine months and seriously think about my actions during that time because, dude, she is a hospital mix-up baby or an alien implantation (Ya hear that Tom? Child support suit, STAT) and her hair is a nightmare in the morning. The product I've bought over the counter has either been too oily or has irritated her skin, so I had been resorting to playing quarters with her in the morning and then brushing her hair while she's buzzed.

Secondly, Virginia gets up in the middle of the night and rifles through my old tape collection. She finds some Iron Maiden or Black Sabbath and headbangs till the wee hours. I didn't think it was that big of a deal until her teacher sent me a note asking that she not look like Roseanna Rosanadanna when she comes to class. My bad.

When I finally opened the box and used the products, I was impressed for numerous reasons. One, the ingredients are very gentle and they smell incredible. Secondly, while washing Virginia's hair (because she normally pours shampoo in her eyes and runs screaming from the bathroom, ping-ponging off of walls like wind up toy. We haven't remedied that yet) she was inspecting the bottle and she started reading the back to me. Each product tells the story of a different fictional child along with facts about the country they live in and what they do for fun.. When she discovered this, she wanted to take a bath every twenty minutes to read the next bottle. I of course reminded her that we live in Mississippi, BATH DAY IS ON THE 3RD OF THE MONTH, and she sulked away. She came in a few minutes later, beaming.

"Virginia, you smell like hot chocolate," I said.

"Mmm hmm. Chocolate body lotion. Smell me," she answered as she stuck her foot in my face.

So! I purchased two packages, the sampler for girls and the sampler for boys and I'm giving them away. In the comments, please indicate whether you have a boy or a girl and on Friday, I will use the number generator and choose the nearest corresponding comment for a girl and the one for a boy. Make sense? No? Have a martini or six and come back. It will.

If you don't want to wait or you don't win and you want to try the products, you can use the discount code "BIDP08" and receive 20% off of your online order. And, no, I'm not making commission or anything; Danny kindly offered a discount to my readers and I totally endorse the products because they're fantastic.

Good luck and I'll post the winner on Friday.

Hmmm. I *have* a boy, but I *am* a girl. Quite a conundrum. Be a good parent or get the chocolate lotion for my ownself?

Ah, heck with it. The chances I'll win are tiny anyway, so I'll go with being a good mommy.

I have a little boy who is at his happiest when he is in the bathtub. So much so that sometimes I put a little warm water in the tub, plop him in there, grab a book and sit on the bathroom floor for a half hour getting mommy time and, bonus, a clean kid!

They used to have this stuff at Bath and Body works! My oldest son loved the root beer body wash. I would love to win the boys sampler. Thanks for posting the link, I will be ordering for sure if (and by if I mean when) I don't win.

PS...You Rock :)

Also, you should totally try "Leilani's Halakahiki Lotion" it is beautiful for when you have a sunburn and it's agonizing to apply anything else your body. Plus, it smells yummy.

questions! answers! As far as I know, the discount code is good for an indefinite amount of time but you'll want to enter it in at the purchase screen, not as a promotional code.

And if you have a whole bunch of chirruns, let them fight it out and whoever has hair left, wins!

I'm kidding. Kind of.
