(crap. I wrote this and forgot to publish)
So, it's day five. We made it. I feel better. My jaw is achey but not burning and I'm sleeping and dreaming better without all that caffeine in me. Now, I'm just excited to see what one Dr Pepper a day verus a 12 pack will do to my waistline.
I think I can do this as a lifestyle change. How about you?
I will leave this post up and tomorrow I will announce the winner of the Tungsten ring (Sunday, August 23).

You made it! Good job. I need to start the coke limit again. Sigh. Starting is harder than keeping it up.
Doesn't it make you feel better that you have the Dr. out of your system? I lost 5 pounds by just replacing water with other drinks. Don't get me wrong, I have 95 more pounds to lose, and I do miss my sweet pop, but I know we can do it!
I just started 2 days ago, but I don't tend to drink much soda because it's hardly in the house. However, I hardly drink anything at all unless it's food time. I've been drinking low cal fuze, or low cal gatorade, as well as water, and have noticed that I'm actually thirsty a lot more than I pay attention to!
*THUMBS UP*
I lost 10 lbs by stopping the pop...now if I could only stop the chocolate...sigh...ha, who am I kidding... *peeling wrapper off mini kitkat*
*claps* Yay! You made it! Isn't water so refreshing?
Have you tried sparkling water mixed with some fruit juice (about 2 parts water to 1 part juice)? Works for me when I want a soda!
Give yourself a pat on the back. One tiny step towards a healthier lifestyle. It's funny, I have found I feel so much better when I drink more water, eat healthier, and do some form of excercise, but then I always seem to backpedal to the bad habits again. Gotta find a way to stop doing that.
Best of luck Crystal! You can keep it up. I just decided to sign up for the challeng myself today. Keep your fingers crossed.
Way to go Crystal!!!! I knew you'd make it!! I need to limit myself to one Diet Dr. Pepper a day, and reading your challenge posts has inspired me. I honestly used to think that there was no way I could do it, but now (that I've seen you do it) I'm going to give it a (serious) try!! Thanks for the inspiration- YOU ARE AWESOME - don't forget that!
If you can find flavored seltzer that isn't sweetened, that's my favorite drink of choice. Alas, they aren't enlightened out here in Utah and I can't find it here. I need to speak with the store manager I think...I think Polar makes it but you can get a store brand if your store carries it.
I'm staying with you, Crystal ... using my homemade limonade. We need the hydration as we're experiencing weather that gets a a bit tropical at times ... albeit nothing like you do.
I'm proud of you; you made this far and I know being off the Dr will be good for everyone ... but especially you.
Attagirl, Crystal.
Regards.
wv = pnessy. That suggests something ... but I think I'll leave it alone.
i don't do artificial sweeteners, but i like water, and i'm cheering you on!!!
I drank my first Dr. Pepper today in months in honor of you. I used to drink a 12 pack a week, now I am down to 1 can/bottle/glass a weekend!
Woohoo..you did it! congrats to you. I so need to increase my water intake! You are inspiring me.
I am totally hooked on diet coke. Have lost weight before by cutting out soda and doing water, just have to make myself do it again! easier to say than do!
I want to know what it does to my waist line too!!! 6 more weeks for me, and we'll see if there is a difference!
p.s. We are doing a 6 week challenge on my baby board. =)
I wish I had your level of commitment. I'm a Pepsi junkie and I don't think I could cut down to less than 6 a day. I wish I could though. Congrats!
You rocked it !!!!!!! I live on Crystal light, and that is a good thing because I don't think I would get enough fluids any other way.
Congratulations, Crystal! It's a major lifestyle change, indeed. I've (at various times) given up: booze, caffeine, solid food, carbonation (turns out that it contributes to calcium loss-- who knew?), and artificial sweetener (in the form of diet soda), and carbonation and artificial sweetener were the hardest BY FAR.
If you can go a week, you can go a month. I'm in your corner and rooting for you like crazy.
I stopped drinking 11 days ago because of the calories. I jumped on the scale at my gym and was up 2 pounds. NOOOOO!!!!! I wanted the affirmation of a lower weight, but guess that's not going to happen just yet. I need to look at what else I am putting in my mouth as well. So I am sticking with it. I hate the jiggly parts of me and know that eventually, my good habits will show up. I spent at least 5 years with bad habits, so it will take time, but I will do it! Just wanted to share my story so you know you are not alone! Good job and keep at it!
